Well done to everyone who took part. Feedback Here's what some of our competitors said about the 2007 White Peak Full and Half Marathon Races - yes we left any negative comments (and spelling mistakes) in too. Great views and good to have a traffic free course. Enjoyed the bus ride to the start on the double decker Great run, great atmosphere, great views Terrific event that really captures the imagination fantastic marathon. still aching Spot on organisation although maybe an extra drinks station needed in the fist half as I was getting dehydrated at the turn. such a scenic place to run.The paths were much drier than last year givin many a PB (me inluded).Although it was wet,I stil got sun-burned shoulders.great British weather.Plenty of drinks stations and the sponges were appreciated. Fantastic race (my 1st marathon) - great organisation & wonderful scenery! Beautiful, well organised race - surprisingly flat until the end.. Although I would most definately do this one again, I was most dissapointed with the prize of a mug at the end of the race. It was not the easiest of marathons and a medal or a simple trophy would have made all of the difference to me. Worth doing for the landscape, the organisation and the sausage cobs for sale at the clubhouse at the end. Great run, nice scenery, fast course, last downward hill bit of a calf killer but a well recomended run, bit confusing at start and not much room for overtaking for the first mile due to narrow lane but great ffrom then on, small numbers so not crowded thank you Matlock AC I was a bit worried about the uphill bit being a relative novice, but it was so gradual that most of the time I did not notice it. The scenery was exceptional taking your mind of some aches on the climb. The organisation was excellent and I would thoroughly recommend it to anyone - Well done Matlock AC. a great race - Second time of doing this one and even beter han the first time as a got a PB by 12 mins! Lovely scenery, friendly and good support along the way. The hills aren't nearly as bad as everyone thinks Thoroughly enjoyed this marathon. Well organised, great atmosphere amongst the runners - plenty of conversations during the race to help pass the time - fabulous scenery Thanks to all involved in the organisation. Got sunburnt which was a bit of a surprise! I loved the views along the trail I did enjoy this race.wonderful course. Excellent marathon and excellent marshalling and support glad to hear that you enjoyed yourself, and that your injuries held up OK - it was indeed a splendid course, and one I too intend on doing again in future. Put me down in the "shiny new PB" category btw... Great race - the best marathon I've done Great first race due to friendly atmosphere and location Actually it isn't that easy. The first 9 miles are uphill (but only just) and the wind was mostly from the side. When you get to the downhill it's quite steep so you need a bit of strength left to make the most of it. Beautiful scenery. Well organised. A definite must for a marathoner. Well organised, friendly race. A beautiful run through the Dales. ………..My only slight complaint was the mile markers. I didn't want them. I would have preferred to lose myself in the run rather than counting the miles. But a big thank you to Matlock AC for organising the best marathon I have run so far. Lovely, but glad I was part of a team as I could have got lonely otherwise! Enjoyed it more than London Perfect weather, apart from the downpour just before the start, Great marshalls and plenty of water stops, Good Goody Bag, |
