Victory this year for Vet 40 Rob Downs of Wilmslow with the principal places also taken by vets and serial "White Peaker" Martin Firth coming in 2nd this year. It is interesting that an even higher proportion of early finishers were vets with only one in the first 10 places under the age of 40. A breezy but sunny day greeted the runners but just before the start there was a heavy shower which cleared up just after the race commenced. In the Ladies race Dawn Critchill took the honours followed by Lisa Barry improving on her 2005 and 2006 times to take 2nd place. The smattering of under 3 hours finishers amounted to a mere half dozen this year.

The half marathon start was also plagued by a pre-start downpour but this did not deter the runners in any way and the rain held off mainly throughout for all competitors until after the finish. Both Men and Ladies titles were taken home by Wooton Road Runners with Michael Aldridge finishing ahead of the field over 2 minutes quicker than in the puddles of 2006. He was followed by Anthony Duffy just over 2 minutes down with Karl Webster from the host club enjoying third place under a minute later. The Ladies race was taken by Kirsty Whigham (LV35) followed by Matlock AC's Christine Howard also LV35.  Glossopdale's Sandra Cooper arriving home third and 1st Lady Vet 40.
