Congratulations Andy. Not an easy weekend to do it in either.

Shows what can be done on running alone. None of this gym work and core strengthening exercises.

Well we have returned from our JNC. Unfortunatly with mixed results. Rob, unselfishly, pulled out at Rossett Pike,(approx 30miles),to allow me an attempt at the 12 hour target, which I managed by the skin of my teeth in 11 hours 54m 41s.

Rob had started the day not feeling a 100% and nursing a bad cough, which started to take its toll. On the second leg, he decided on some body surfing to add to his difficulties.

On the third leg we lost one of our pacers to a badly twisted ankle, leaving "only" Gary Thorpe to pace and feed us both. Rob was soldiering on but when we reached Rossett Pike we were nearly 30mins down on our planned 11hr 40 schedule, and made the brave deciscion to retire.

I lost more time going up Bowfell after choosing a poor line. I now had the prospect of 4 and a half hours of constant effort to try and make up lost time. The constant pushing on paid off and charging down the last hill I, at last, knew I was going to make it.

It was a great day for me, with family, friends and Joss awaiting my emotional arrival.

I could not have done it with out all the help and support on the day. I must mention Rob (who I am absolutley gutted for) for getting me into this and back running fit and Gary Thorpe (former member) who helped with everything and was absolutley brilliant on the fell.

Hi
Thank you to everyone who was able to make a donation as part of my challenge. I was able to raise £150 towards Cancer Research.

Thanks

Andy
