Captain Greg Hopkinson reports:
Today was the second round of the BDL XC Series at Chaddesden and it was great to see several MACs turning out on a Sunday morning to run as fast as they can round a park in the centre of Derby.
After a 2 minute silence for remembrance Sunday runners were treated to a loopy 4.5 mile course which included a pretty pointless double crossing of the infamous Chaddesden Brook.
MAC managed to finish with 4 men inside the top 10 positions with myself and Jose Rivas Gutierrez taking the first two places with Colin Davenport and Luke Beresford close behind.
The girls were also well represented with Megan Elliott and Sally Hale choosing to stick together for the whole race to finish in 86th and 87th place, probably not a bad idea when you are in the middle of Chaddesden estate.
After the race John Thorpe was relieved to get rid of one of his final duties as Men’s Captain by giving myself and Lottie a much needed lesson in how to take down the team tent.
The next BDL is on the 11th December in Ilkeston. It would be great to see a few more MAC members there for the final XC before Christmas.
