Mike Blair reports on the Belvoir Half Marathon:
A solo MAC headed over to the Vale of Belvoir to contest the Belvoir Half Marathon, opting for the slightly less muddy option of Halves on the day.
After a 100m XC start in a boggy wet field, tarmac took over for the next 21km.
An infrequently undulating course rewarded runners with fast times, but the wind hampered progress for the first and last few km’s.
The top 4 never changed place after leaving the field at the start with Mike holding steady in 3rd throughout.
For his first half in two years and Marathon Training being the order of the year so far, Mike was overjoyed with a double trophy day, taking the 3rd overall and 1st V40 glassware home.
A PB sealed the triple joy, with Mike running a 72:26.
The winner, Cameron Milne of Central AC ran a swift 70:32. Second was Oliver Matharu from Holme Pierrepont in 71:48.
Mike also reports he’s due a Haircut soon and despite appearances, does live in a house.
