Berlin Marathon 2025

Atessa Kolanowska reports
Renown for its flat course with few major turns, Berlin attracted 55,146 runners.
Mig (Michal Kolanowski) flew the MAC flag 🎽 round the 26.2 miles in unseasonably brutal conditions (nearing 27C). He wisely adjusted his race plan and performed a pacing masterclass finishing in 3:20:12, achieving a 22 minute PB, compared to London only 5 months ago. Hard graft with great local coaches paid off.
The course travels through the city’s scenic and historic sites, including the Reichstag, Siegessäule, Berliner Dom, and Potsdamer Platz, and finishes at the iconic Brandenburg gate. But… London it is not 🫢😁
I was the cheerleader 😁 on this occasion and absolutely loved the atmosphere in the city in the days leading to the event. It was electric. In part thanks to the clever marketing of the merchandise- Berlin was flooded with the event colours!
Mig was not successful in the ballot and got a guaranteed entry with Sports Tours International who we thoroughly recommend. They were recommended to us by another MAC so they’re officially tried and tested.
Fun was had at the fantastic after party with live entertainment and countless smiles 🍻 💃 🍻 they were just dancing a bit funny… 😁
Winner: Sebastian Sawe (KEN) 2:02:06
