Bob Foreman – WFRA MV60 Championships Winner!

Bob Foreman, MV60 winner in the WFRA Welsh Championships 2023.

Here’s the write up from the WFRA:

The results are in and it’s time to announce our 2023 champions. The overall men’s race was extremely tight. Jack Agnew’s (Mercia) run at Pedol Peris improved his overall score just enough to take the lead over Gavin Roberts (CVFR) the 2023 North Wales champion. The head-to-head between them has been very close all year and either would have been a worthy champion. Last year’s champion Joel Gomes (Run Free) couldn’t improve his score at Pedol Peris but he does take home the V40 prize.
Joanne Henderson (Denbigh Harriers) took another win at Pedol Peris and she cemented her status as the top overall Welsh fell runner for 2023 along with winning the V40 category. The top two places were reversed from last year with Rhian Probert (Mynydd Du) taking 2nd place overall and 1st V50. Jackie Lee (Eryri) was close behind and takes 3rd overall.
In the remaining age categories, Tomas Black (MDC) was the first U23 and 5th overall in the series. He remains one to watch for the future. Jez Brown (Buckley) is no stranger to series wins and he took advantage of his new age V50 category to take a commanding victory. Sue Howarth (Mercia) and Bob Foreman (Matlock) won the very competitive V60 category. Don Powell (Basingstoke & Mid Hants) repeated his V70 win from last year and Gary Gunner (Croft Ambrey) moved up one place from last year to win the V75s.
The series presentation will take place at a North Wales race, details to be announced. Thanks to everyone taking part once again this year!
