Clowne Half Marathon 2025 – MAC Road Championship Race 7
On 23rd November 12 MACs travelled to Clowne to take part in the Clowne Half Marathon as part of the club’s road championships. It should have been 13, but chairman Andy unfortunately had to withdraw due to injury.
The stormy wet weather made it look like it would be a character building session, but by the time the race started the sun was out and it could almost be described as warm. This held for the race, before chucking it down again right afterwards.
The course is described as undulating, and wasted no time in providing a climb for the first mile. Mile 4 provided the majority of the downhill for the race. 5+6 up, 7+8 down. The most difficult section was around mile 10, with what felt the toughest uphill plus a headwind which seemed to follow for the rest of the course, despite the course itself changing directions.
Even with a tough course, MAC enjoyed a successful day with many PBs!
