Clumber Lakeside Event

Clumber Lakeside – 24 January 2026

Anyone who has run the Worksop Half Marathon will have had the pleasure of running in a small section of Clumber Park which is owned and managed by the National Trust. The Clumber Lakeside which is organised by Rasselbock Running takes in much more of the park and the lake.

From the start, at the Paddocks, the course takes runners out onto a gradual descent down Ash Tree Hill Road within the park. After a fast start, the route heads through some woods before commencing to circle the lake. As it does, the ground is a mixture of compact trails and tarmac. Each lap measures 7.144km with very runnable undulations which equate to 67 metres elevation. Runners have 6 hours to complete as many laps as they want, with 6 laps being a marathon.

Rasselbock regularly have two-day events, so on the Sunday, the route would be reversed, to keep it fresh for anyone attempting to do the event on both days.

For Matlock AC, Dan Ashcroft completed the marathon on the Saturday, it was very chilly, but it remained dry and sunny, perfect for running. He also had the pleasure of running alongside another runner chasing the 100 club. As you do more of these events, you get to know the regulars and there is plenty of encouragement and a really good vibe.
