A waterlogged course at Markeaton resulted in a last minute swerve eastwards towards Nottingham and the delights of Bulwell Park. A great effort by those involved to rearrange the event at short notice, with the added bonus of a strength training session as runners took turns pushing each other out of the car park.
A great showing of over 30 MACs, and even the weather was kind with the morning clouds parting (almost) just long enough for the races to take place under a MAC-blue sky.
Full results are not yet published, but will be available at https://www.race-results.co.uk/results/2023/ shortly. However, it’s safe to say that a number of runners went home slightly heavier under the weight of their medals (and a few pounds of mud in their clothing).
Congratulations to the ladies team who secured gold and silver medals, as well as individual medals for Hayley, Shelley and Amy. In the juniors, Logan had a great run to take bronze, and he’ll never be bored of Shelley congratulating him but pointing out that hers was gold.
Jan also had a great run, taking silver for her efforts
Pending the full results, congratulations go to Dan Haworth taking second place overall and Colin Davenport for 3rd V35. Mick Moorhouse and Les Thurston also took silver and bronze in the MV65 category.
