Edinburgh Marathon

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿Edinburgh Marathon x 1.5🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 – the one with a DNF 😥 and a PB 🎉🎉

Sunday 26th May saw two MACs arrive at the start line of the Edinburgh Marathon to typical Scottish weather. The course starts in the City Centre at Potterow and then heads onto the Royal Mile, past Edinburgh Castle and Arthur’s Seat, before turning onto the Promenade at Portobello. Runners then head out past the finish line at Mussleburgh and continue east before turning back to the finish line.

This is a brilliantly organised and well supported event, and despite the rain there were plenty of supporters smiles and encouragement along the way.

Unfortunately, I only managed just over 14 miles before having to retire due to a medical issue. Was absolutely gutted that I didn’t get to finish but there’s always another day…

The real star of the show was Atessa Kolanowska , who achieved a brilliant time of 3:49:20, and another well deserved PB in the bag. Her commitment to the marathon distance is amazing and I may be slightly envious.
