Hardwick 10k

Thursday 20 July saw the annual running of the Hardwick 10k, a rather undulating route from Pilsley, up to Hardwick Hall and back – achieving the unnerving feat of being an out and back course that seems to climb on the way out and on the way back!

The race was in the MAC road championships, so an opportunity to nab some points for those taking part.

The most impressive performance of the evening was Hayley Gill, not only finishing first female but setting a new course record in the process (38:19).

Also impressing at the sharp end, captain Greg Hopkinson finished second overall in a rather nippy 34:53.

The ladies flew the flag for MAC, taking the team prize – congratulations to:
Hayley Gill (11th overall 38:19)
Lucy Taylor (64th overall 45:58)
Megan Elliott (85th overall 47:26)

Other MACs in action included:
Andy Mellor (23rd 41:01)
Neil Corker (37th 43:13)
Jim Thorneycroft (54th 45:12)
Andy Hodkin (74th 46:53)
Martin Lea (126th 50:00)
Steve Gill (132nd 50:17)
Gavin Elliott (150th 51:31)
Sally Owen (206th 55:18)
