Nine Edges Endurance RaceThe veteran comedy duo Watson & Elwis were again in action last weekend on 11/09/21 stepping down to the short and flat ? 20 mile Nine Edges Endurance Race, which starts at Fairholmes underneath the Derwent Dam wall and traverses nine edges to finish at the Robin Hood Pub below Birchen Edge. A below par Watson suggested at the starting gate that he may well treat this as a training run thus leaving Elwis to contemplate a solo race without the usual competitive edge that Watson undoubtedly produces. Elwis ran a solitary race managing to complete in a respectable time finishing as 1st V50 in 5th place in 2:54 25. Mr Watson ran his training gig before calling it a day at Burgage Bridge check point.The first finisher was Chris Sleath in a very respectable time of 2:33:35 and the First Lady home was Helen Elmore in a time of 3:03:32.A great race, very well organised as usual by Edale Mountain Rescue and well worth supporting
