Looks as though MAC had a great evening at the annual Members' XC at Darley Bridge on Monday. Also the first GP race of the season for the Seniors and Juniors. Thanks Karl Webster for report and Ricky Wood for photos.

"Well, it turned out to be an interesting evening and we need to wait until the clocks have changed next year if we're going to stick with a Monday night fixture, as we were straining our eyes on the finish line looking into the darkness as some of the later finishers were coming back.
It was a great turnout all round with the first finishers being Alex Currie and Arthur Limb sprinting across the final field, each trying to get a nose in front. It was Alex who just nudged ahead in the end to hold onto his under 12s title and earn himself maximum GP points.
Caitlin McCloy had it her own way with a convincing win in the under 12 girls.
In the under 16s Sophie Hopkinson handled her new age grouping admirably with a one second advantage over Amelia Corke by the finish. Bertie Elphick dominated the U16 boys' race, again getting his GP campaign off to a good start.
In the Senior race, Birtie West showed a muddy pair of heels to the 3-lappers, as did Shelley Fairey.
Hopefully this more extreme cross country course will have set up some of the first-timers in the adults' race for future tame parkland!”
