Linacre Infini Trail Race

2025 Linacre Infini Trail Race — Race Report

The 2025 Linacre Infini took place on Saturday, 8 November 2025, at the scenic Linacre Reservoirs near Chesterfield. Runners had six hours to complete as many laps as
possible around the 4.6 km wooded circuit — a mix of undulating forest trails and footpaths that can feel gentle one minute and punishing the next.

The Race Atmosphere
The field was friendly and tight-knit, with 73 entrants taking on the challenge. The
atmosphere was as uplifting as ever — full credit to the volunteers and marshals, who
were relentlessly encouraging from start to finish. Every lap ended with a burst of cheers,
warm smiles, and a well-stocked checkpoint that felt like a mini-party of flapjacks, jelly
babies, and good humour.

Their enthusiasm carried runners through the darker patches — especially as fatigue set
in and the woods began to quieten later in the day.

Winners:
■ Male winner: Mark Dobbs — 13 laps in 5:53
■ Female winner: Beth Elliott — 11 laps in 5:36

My Race
I managed 12 laps and a distance of roughly 33.4 miles in 5.38. I probably needed another 15 minutes to get another lap in! Maybe next year?

That steady rhythm of running, checking in, grabbing a snack, and heading straight back
out became almost meditative.
