On Sunday 13th September, two early-rising MAC runners headed over to Nottinghamshire to take on the Mansfield 10k. The race features a flat, fully closed-road, two-lap course that starts on West Gate and finishes in the historic Market Place. Covering the town centre and surrounding local streets, the route is run on paved roads that are completely flat and traffic-free, making it ideal for fast times and personal bests. The race delivered a friendly route with slick organisation and excellent support throughout, while the repeated passes through the town centre added plenty of atmosphere. It was a well-run event with a great community feel from start to finish.
At the sharp end of the field, Chris Davies (Harrow/RAF) took the overall win in 30:42, with Francesca Sedgewick claiming first female in 38:08
Leading the way for MAC was Sally Owen who crossed the line in 54:09, placing 310th overall and claiming 1st place in the V55 category. Gavin Elliott was next home finishing in 55:02 for 338th place.
A total of 757 runners completed the race.
