The solo Matlock Ladies Team headed to the home of XC Berry Hill!
We all agreed it’s a perfect XC route – a mix of mud, uphill, woodland – all it needs is a few obstacles to jump over!
A bit of a rushed start but we all made it to the start line on time in good conditions, pretty dry underfoot and only a sprinkle of rain. Lining up with a host of elite runners always feels like madness and as the gun went off and the race was underway I was thinking “how close to the back am I”, but there’s no time to look back and the 3k single lap is done and dusted before you know it.
Leg 1 Lottie Riddle, Leg 2 Louise Rowley, Leg 3 Kate Ruffell. We finished 83/139 which I don’t think is too bad at all.
This is a top class event right on our doorstep and it would be good to see more Matlock runners out next year!! Minimum requirement is to field a Women’s and Men’s team 😉
