Dennis Holmes summarises MAC efforts – part 1 of a double parkrun weekend!
This morning was the first instalment of the second double header weekend and MAC parkrunners were out in force again with 20 members across 8 venues. The tourist award has to go to Greg and Megan at Mount Edgcumbe in Cornwall with Greg finishing 1st in 19.41 and Megan 16th in 26.37.
Another MAC first was recorded by Luke Beresford at North Yorkshire Water parkrun in a cracking time of 17.22!.
Jay Bird and Dennis Holmes were also tourists at Barnsley parkrun where Jay took the honours again finishing 62nd (26.33) to Dennis’s 68th (26.55).
More locally Andrew Watson running his 250th parkrun at Markeaton finished in 50th place (23.29) whilst Lisa Walton was at Alvaston for her 150th parkrun finishing in 29.37 for 145th place. Gav Elliott was sole MAC at Shipley park in 26th place (24.21). At Poolsbrook a further 5 MACS were out with performance of the week perhaps being the 2nd place overall of Fergus Turner in 18.14 running in the 11-14 age group category. Thomas Walton was 125th (30.56), Rachel Sargeant 138th (31.58), Jo Lloyd 139th (31.59) and Sarah Walton 190th (48.19).
Finally at the MAC local Monsal Trail parkrun no fewer than 7 members completed the New Years Eve turnout. Jacob Jones led the team home in 8th place and 20.31. Sarah Witham was first MAC lady in 13th overall and 3rd lady (21.54). Gary Jones in 14th (22.00), Andy Mellor in 18th (22.19), Dave Curtis in 23rd (24.43), Roy Austin in 29th (24.34) and finishing off the Jones family entry, Lisa Jones in 50th place overall, 11th lady and a time of 27.54.
