Parkrun report Saturday 17 August
We have had a surge in parkrun activity this weekend beyond my capacity to report so the proper report will follow tomorrow. However we have photos of several Matlock AC athletes who participated today which is great to see.
The results are in and including a few names we have not seen for a while there were 30 runners at 17 different venues. There were some great results particularly from the youngsters with the Jones quintet at Graves parkrun and the Croft trio at Rother Valley. At the other end of the scale Les Thurston put in another appearance at Penrose parkrun also securing the tourist award. Inbetweeners, for the ladies, Sally Owen ran a great 25.07 at Shrewsbury scoring 71.13% age grading! whilst Sarah Witham ran a 24.54 at Clifton finishing 11th overall and First lady. For the boys Luke Beresford was first finisher at Brierley with a cracking 17.14 for a 79.21% age grading which was second only to Will Crofts magnificent 80.21%.
Older boys, Jon Tyson and David Howarth both ran well at Poolsbrook finishing in 22.54 and 24.38 respectively for 68.8% and 67.5% age gradings.
Finally, in the less competitive parkrun categories of alphabet and periodic element table chasing, Jay Bird had a good run at the University of Northampton for his “U” whilst Dennis Holmes completed New Earswick for the element “Ni” Nickel.
Well run everyone. Same time next week.
