Parkrun news 28 December 2024
Quite a special weekend with 22 participants at 15 different parkrun venues including our new parkrun tourist champion Penny McCloy who by completing the Lake2Lake parkrun in Te Anau, New Zealand has probably set an unbeatable distance from Matlock record.
Les Thurston’s run at Penrose and Ben Meakin’s sojourn to Bushy park may in more normal weeks have been contenders as perhaps may have been David Davidsons trip to Cheltenham or Sally Owen’s trip to Congleton.
Mark Moriarty made a return to parkrun at Conyngham Hall near Knaresborough, North Yorkshire also adding to our impressive club total carbon footprint.
Most of the usual suspects were out at Alvaston, Ashbourne, Brierley Forest and Monsal Trail. Sarah Austin running her 231st parkrun and 5th at Alvaston set a new PB of 27.34!
Athletic performance of the day was at Rother Valley where Will Croft ran a cracking 17.07 for third place and a very impressive 80% age grading.
Well run everyone. Another parkrun in 3 days time.
