Parkrun News – Saturday 4 January 2025
19 Members ran this weekend at 7 venues. The usual suspects were at Alvaston and Ashbourne whilst Jay Bird took a short bus ride to Notts City and the Forest Rec parkrun. At a deceptively hilly parkrun Jay managed a reasonable 24.51 for 46th place. Over at Derby and Markeaton park, Laura Bassett had a steady one completing the 5k in 35.31.
All of the real runners were at Monsal Trail where Greg Hopkinson and Caspar Reynolds made it a MAC one, two with Pasco Reynolds not far behind in 8th place. Representing the old guard, chairman Andy had a great run to finish in 20.15 and 10th position with a 73.99% age grading.
Dennis Holmes was off touristing again seeking a letter “O” at Oxford where he had a gentle stroll around the nice flat 3 lap course in 25.22.
The final venue of choice for MAC’s on Saturday was the pancake flat Poolsbrook where Roy and Sarah Austin plus Chris Rouse all also seemed to take account of the conditions sacrificing a bit of speed for safely getting around.
