A fantastic start to 2026 with 29 members running or volunteering at parkrun. Not a surprise that Black Rocks and Monsal Trail accounted for 21 of those members. Black Rocks must have seemed like a continuation of the New Years Eve party with 16 members running and volunteering.
Young Oscar Szabo led the team home in 11th place in a time of 20.38 whilst Chris Gillott represented the more mature runners next in with 22.18 taking 21st place. Third MAC in was David Bowden in a swift time of 22.27 for 24th. Among many great performances, Finley Flitter ran a new PB of 26.40 finishing in 86th place.
Oliver Lloyd was first MAC back at Monsal Trail in a time of 21.43 for 26th place with Dan Ashcroft following not so far behind him in 22.30 for 33rd place. Nick Gant and Lisa Walton were then sandwiched within the Lloyd family turn out with Jo Lloyd completing the MAC quintet in a time of 28.37 and 161st place.
Roy and Sarah Austin opted for Shipley Country park for their first parkrun of 2026 having steady runs around the hilly Shipley park.
Doing a spot of mini touristing, Andrew Donoher and Jill Neville were out and about at Wynyard Woodland near Stockton upon Tees. Andrew ran 22.12 for 13th place whilst Jill finished in a time of 27.42 for 65th place.
Slightly further afield in Hobart, Tasmania, Dennis Holmes ran his first parkrun of 2026 at Queens Domain parkrun to secure his 10th Q in a time of 26.10 for 75th position.
