Parkrun report Saturday 3rd August 2024
26 MACS participated in or volunteered at 13 different parkrun venues this weekend. 8 runners achieved age grading percentages of above 70% with Simon Brister exceeding 80%! (just) Greg Hopkinson was first finisher at Killarney House parkrun in Ireland whilst Dan Haworth also took the gold at Marlborough Common parkrun. Luke Beresford had to be content with a silver at Brierley Forest having run the Salt Cellar Fell Race on Friday evening. Ashbourne Memorial Recreation Ground parkrun was the most popular event with 6 MAC competitors, 4 of whom were Team Jones! Everyone ran excellent times particularly young Emily whose 25.08 finish earned her the highest age grading with a magnificent 74.67%!! At our local Monsal Trail parkrun no MACS actually ran but we were well represented in the volunteer category with Andy, Atessa, Darren and Nick all putting in a shift. This weeks tourist award goes to Ian Watson at Kagerzoom parkrun near Leiden in the Netherlands where he ran a superquick 19.09 for 7th place and 74.06% age grading. Well run everyone!
