With Hairy Helmet Relays taking place on Friday and the Ripley 10k on Sunday, a lot of our regular parkrunners decided to take the day off!
Gav Elliott bucked the trend and still went for his regular tootle around Ashbourne, whilst Lisa Walton was the only other MAC to “double up” with both a run and a volunteer at Black Rocks. David Howarth took the easy option with a volunteer at Black Rocks and the Ripley 10k on Sunday!
Up in the Lakes at Fell Foot, senior MAC member Simon Brister followed doctors and more importantly his wife’s advice and also stuck to volunteering.
Off alphabet hunting yet again, Dennis Holmes visited Shannon in the Republic of Ireland and the scenic Illaunmanagh parkrun where he took 8th place and 1st vet 60 with a time of 25.08. There were less than 70 runners in the race!
Sarah Witham was both a runner and volunteer at the local Mansfield parkrun where she did a fine job pacing in the 30 minute runners.
At Monsal Trail, Paul Clark put in a fine performance with a time of 22.20 for 38th place whilst not far away at Rother Valley Cherry Moger had a steady run around in 30.35 for 291st place out of a pretty massive 517 finishers.
Finally, adding a new parkrun venue to my list is Malcolm Betts who completed Sizewell parkrun in Suffolk finishing in 48th place in a time of 26.42.
Well run and volunteered all.
