Dennis Holmes reports
21 Members participating at Black Rocks parkrun, chasing senior club championship points served to swell our numbers to 30 members in total across 10 parkrun venues.
Gav Elliott dismissed the points on offer and stuck to Ashbourne for his regular run out, whilst Oscar Szabo really has no choice but to stay local in Cardiff where he ran a swift 19.31.
Rob Curtis was also chasing the dragon in Wales but at Dolgellau supporting the Fell Running Teams where he ran a tidy 24.10 for 24th place.
Not quite sure why Jon Tyson turned up at Forest Rec which is not the easiest course and therefore 25.36 is a pretty good effort.
Sarah Witham seems to love the East Riding of Yorkshire and this week was at Hull where her run of excellent times continued. 21.56 earning her a 74.62% age grading.
Two MAC youngsters who have spread their wings a bit in recent years are Birtie West and Oliver Lloyd. Birtie was out at Rother Valley where he ran 20.53 for 30th place whilst Oliver ran 20.43 for 58th place at Town Moor, Newcastle.
Off alphabet hunting yet again, Dennis Holmes was also up North participating in the new venue Ushaw Historic House parkrun, Durham.
There are too many excellent performances to mention at Blach Rocks but Captain Greg took 3rd place in 17.26 whilst Faye Thompson was first lady in a fantastic 20.54. Tony Barrable defies age running 21.48 for 24th place and an amazing 81.88% age grading. At the other end of the age range, Emily Jones in the JW10 category ran 23.45 for a 76.26% age grading! Mum Lisa had a good run finishing in 22.21 setting her new PB. Les Thurston was another MAC winner taking the first vet male 75-79 position.
Well run everyone. If you want to be picked up for these reports then please put Matlock AC as one of your 5 clubs into your parkrun profile.
