Wow! I now have a total of 38 runners and volunteers at 11 venues which is a bumper turnout obviously fuelled by the 28 members who were at Alvaston parkrun for the Club Championship event.
There were loads of fantastic times and yet again it is great to see the outstanding performances by our junior members.
Family Jones managed to get 3 in a row with finish positions 46, 47 and 48 in times of 21.20, 21.21 and 21.22!!! In the middle of this young Emily bagged the first lady finisher and the amazing age grading of 82.2%
Amongst the more senior members Ian Pitkin ran a superb 20.48 for 41st place and a 77.8% age grading.
In the middle aged category Roy Austin set his new parkrun personal best with his first sub 22 minute run of 21.59 for 60th place.
Elsewhere, David Bowden and Kate Brett both had great runs at Black Rocks with other regular parkrunners Carl Vincent and Malcolm Betts similarly recording excellent times at Margate and Rother Valley.
No longer in New York but now in Florida, USA at Clermont Waterfront, Isabella Wilson grabbed her second consecutive tourist award with a time of 28.17 for 92nd position.
Apologies to all who have not been namechecked individually but there are too many great performances to cover in this quick report. I have noticed that we had a bit of an epic battle at the front end of the Alvaston parkrun with 3 MAC’s finishing in the top 20 and nine in the top 50!!
