parkrun News Saturday 27 September 2025

Dennis Holmes reports
After last weeks enormous turnout we are down to the parkrun hardcore this week with 15 runners and volunteers at 9 venues.
Gav Elliott makes his weekly pilgrimage to Ashbourne for a steady trot around in 25.53.
Chris Gillott leads the team in at Black Rocks with an impressive 21 minutes for 18th position and 73.81% age grading. 2nd MAC home was Andy Wallis in 21.39 and 22 place with Andrew Watson only 4 seconds behind in 24th place. Stan and Simon Flitter completed this fine quintet of athletes at Black Rocks.
Jon Tyson has been spotted completing a rare parkrun outing this weekend down at Ganger Farm in Hampshire where his dodgy knee did not seem to have slowed him down too much completing the 5k in a respectable 25.53.
Run of the day was Harry Holmes with 16.20 and first finisher at Monsal Trail scoring 80.31% age grading.
Paul Clark returned to Moors Valley parkrun and ran a great 20.40 for 22nd place.
Sarah Witham took a rest at Poolsbrook this weekend but still managed a little bit of barcode scanning.
Dennis Holmes and Lisa Walton returned to Queens Belfast for that all important “Q” having previously being frozen off in January this time just a bit of rain to keep them cool.
Malcolm Betts was sole MAC at Rother Valley where he ran a nice 25.27 for 111th place and last but not least Roy and Sarah Austin at Shipley Country where on the hilly 2 lap course Roy ran an impressive 24.45 whilst Sarah completed the challenging course in 31.46.
Well run all.
