parkrun News – Saturday 27th December 2025

Dennis Holmes reports
19 members were out and about at 13 different venues for their last parkrun fix of 2025.
Steve Gill ran a cracking time of 22.37 at Alvaston for 52nd place.
Chris Gillott was first MAC back at Black Rocks in a tidy 21.49 for 26th place whilst David Bowden jogged it in 28.55 and Rob Curtis parkwalked it in 54.43. Beccy got a voly credit by barcode scanning.
Whilst Blickling parkrun features regularly in this report it is not usually anyone other than former MAC stalwart John Birch to be found there. Pete Bush changed that with his tourist run finishing in 27.50 for 170th place.
Matt Jackson was sole MAC at Brierley Forest where he had a great run finishing in 2nd place in a time of 18.42.
Also running solo was Sarah Witham at the superfast Long Eaton parkrun where she ran a super 22.33 for 105th place,
Carrying on the themes of solo running and touristing, Lisa Walton added the relatively new Meon Valley Trail to our venue list finishing in a time of 27.45 for 106th place.
A trio of MACS were at Monsal Trail led home by Darren Spibey in a rapid 20.34 with Jack Cummins hot on his tail in 20.36. Sally Owen completed the trio finishing in 27.07 for 116th place.
Les Thurston still down in Cornwall ran Penrose parkrun for his 43rd time and finished in 29.14 for 177th position.
Jon Tyson was much closer to home at Poolsbrook where he ran a pretty rapid 24.08 for 80th place.
Still in Australia but this time in Canberra at Queanbeyan parkrun. Dennis Holmes ran the very hilly course in 27.54 for 18th place but more importantly completed his 8th parkrun alphabet.
Last but not least, Cherry Moger made the relatively short trip up to flat as a pancake York parkrun and ran a super time of 22.31 for 123 place.
Well run everyone!
