parkrun news Saturday 8th November 2025

Dennis Holmes reports
20 MAC runners and volunteers participated at 16 different venues on Saturday. A big part of parkrunning is that it is volunteer led so its good to give a shout out to Roy and Sarah Austin and Simon Brister who all helped out this weekend.
On the athletic front Harry Holmes claimed a first finisher place at Millhouses parkrun in a time of 16.16 which is a 80.64% age grading whilst Toby Gill ran 1 second quicker at Long Eaton for second place and a 79.38% age grading.
Amongst the lesser athletes, Andrew Watson led home the Black Rocks runners in a fine time of 24.00 in 33rd place with Rob and Beccy both saving themselves for Sundays cross country.
Dennis Holmes did not “save himself” at Dudley where he achieved a respectable 24.53 on a course that mixes 1,600 meters on a running track with a canal towpath and a cross country woodland mile!
Lisa Walton continued her run of sub 30 minute times with a fine 28.13 at Doddington Hall whilst Sarah Witham continued her excellent running at Leicester Victoria with a time of 22.22.
For the gentlemen of more advanced years, we continue to have some great performers with Ian Pitkin running 23.13 at Burnage, David Howarth a 26.20 at Gedling and Malcolm Betts at Rother Valley running 26.04. The slightly less advanced years boys were also well represented by Nick Gant at Roding Valley where he ran 22.19 for 20th position.
Great running everyone.
