Parkrun Report

parkrun News – Saturday 29 March 2025

30 members participated at 15 different venues in 3 different countries – England 27, Wales 2, Australia 1.

Oscar Szabo and Pete Bush have a strange affection for Wales with repeat performances for both at Cardiff and Nant y Pandy. Oscar is studying in Cardiff which seems a fair reason, but I don’t know what Pete’s excuse is for his many visits to Anglesey.

Parkrun World Tourist and supporter of melt the ice caps, Dennis Holmes, completed his sojourn around Australasia with a run at QE Casino in New South Wales to show solidarity with Oscar and Pete in being slightly weird.

The masses of Matlock AC were to be found at Black Rocks parkrun but the quality runners seemed to be at Alvaston, Monsal Trail and Pavillion Gardens with the notable exception of Christine Howard whose 22.22 at Black Rocks gave her a tremendous 78.84% age grading.

Chris Gillott and Liz Burgess both produced great times at Alvaston, whilst Damon Harrison and Ann Armistead similarly smashed the 70% age gradings at Monsal Trail. Luke Beresford seems to be back on 2 legs once more with a 17.40 and first finisher at Pavillion Gardens, Buxton.

Apologies if I have not picked up your results yet but I am reporting on the hoof with variable internet access for the next 36 hours so comment as usual if I am missing you or if you think that your achievement this weekend merits a personal mention and/or some praise.

Well run everyone. Great turnout.
