16 of Matlock’s finest attended 10 different parkrun venues on Saturday with some excellent running and super results. Luke Beresford on his annual pilgrimage to the Great North Run, dropped in at Fulwell Quarry parkrun, Sunderland and ran a steady 18.31 for second place and a 73.72% age grading. For the ladies Kate Ruffell tested herself on the hills of Wakefield Thornes parkrun running a super time of 24.41, giving her 3rd lady and 32nd overall plus a 77.52% age grading. Topping that age grading takes some doing but Tony Barrable rolled back the years once more at Monsal Trail parkrun running a 21.23! for 20th place and the remarkable 79.66% age grading. One would have reasonably thought that a shade under 80% would take the title this week however Simon Brister running at Fell Foot defies reason and ran a 23.39 for 80.13% age grading!
Other notable perfomances this weekend were Simon Fishers 4th place at Ashbourne and Sarah Witham’s third lady at Cusworth Hall parkrun, near Doncaster which is another undulating course. Well run everyone.
