Parkrun Report

Parkrun news Saturday 30 November 2024
18 MAC’s participated at 9 venues this week with several members choosing to save their legs for the Derby Runner League Cross Country fixture tomorrow. Ashbourne Recreation ground parkrun would not be my choice for a quick time but Andrew Watson keeps delivering with a 23.01 for 16th place whilst Louise Rowley also defied the course with a 24.18 earning 1st lady finisher and 23rd overall. John Birch was out burning off his excess pudding calories at Blickling parkrun with a 26.39 and 89th place finish.
Beccy and Rob burn’t few calories at Brierley with a gentle stroll in preparation for tomorrows cross country or maybe because thay had already started the brownies? Our young flier down in South Wales, Oscar Szabo, was continuing his impressive streak at Cardiff with another sub 20 run and 20th place for a 67% age grading.
Parkrun tourists Jay Bird and Dennis Holmes running their second parkrun in 3 days turned out at the frosty Danehy park in Boston Massachusetts with Jay making it 2-0 to him in the USA double. Roy and Sarah Austin being the second sensible couple of MAC saved a bit for Sunday’s cross country but still recorded reasonable times at the challenging Graves parkrun course in Sheffield. Gav Elliott was sole MAC at the superquick Long Eaton course so was also possibly saving something for tomorrow with a 23.37? At the home Monsal Trail parkrun the Reynolds boys all ran fantastic times with Caspar in 3rd position and 19.07having time to do some barcode scanning as well. Finally, club captain Greg up in the lakes had a jog around Rothay Park finishing in 23.32 for 14th place. Well run everyone
