24 MAC’s ran or volunteered or both at 13 different venues this week. Regular Ashbourne parkrunners Andrew Watson and Gav Elliott both ran steady times and finished in the middle of the field. At the next 3 parkrun venues in alphabetical order, Brierley, Exmouth and Gedling parkruns the first finisher positions were all filled by Matlock AC athletes!! Simon Fisher, Luke Beresford and Ben Meakin all taking the honours with Luke running a superfast 16.53 for an 80.85% age grading.
David Howarth popped up at yet another different venue, Gladstone parkrun in London, where he ran a great time of 24.45 for 42nd position. Jay Bird was possibly alphabet hunting at Isobel Trail where he recorded 67th place in 24.04. At the super-quick parkrun of Long Eaton, 3 of MACS finest tested themselves against the very best with Chris Gillott leading in the trio achieving a 73.35% age grading in a very quick 20.57. Beccy Curtis ran a 22.30 gaining the 6th lady position and 79th overall whilst Rob Curtis finished in a pretty rapid 23.32 for 99th. Matlock’s local parkrun at Monsal Trail had 6 MAC runners and/or volunteers with some pretty impressive results taking 4th, 9th, 10th and 16th positions. Ed, Andy and Karl all recording 70% plus age gradings! Paul Clark was a solo MAC at Moors Valley and only 40% of the family Jones team were out this week at Pavilion Gardens. Roy and Chris made another trip to Rother Valley for steadyish runs around the big pond whilst Sarah Witham also chose a scenic park venue, Rushcliffe park for her 5k effort and a nice time of 24.07 this weekend. Finally Dennis Holmes and Lisa Walton were off alphabet hunting at Y Promenad parkrun, Brecon where Dennis completed his third alphabet.
