Parkrun Roundup

parkrun round up – Saturday 17 May 2025

20 MAC participants spread across 9 different venues all within the UK make it quite an unusual week for the MAC globetrotters. Beccy and Rob were obviously saving their legs for Sundays Pommie Panter race by having a steady jog around the rugby pitches at Battleshead Croft. 50% of all MAC parkrunners were to be found at Black Rocks with family Jones accounting for 40% of those. Young Oliver took his opportunity to lead the family home with a brilliant 22.30 and 24th place whilst mum Lisa ran an impressive 22.30 to finish 2nd lady and 26th overall. Steve Goodall became the filling in the Jones sandwich with his 23.34 and 43rd place finish. Young Emily Jones set yet another PB finishing in 24.12 and 53rd place with a fantastic 74.86% age grading. Dad Gary following her in in 54th place.

Up in the lake district at Keswick, Matt Jackson ran a fantastic 18.36 for 6th place whilst even further North at Lews Castle Kate Ruffell had another great result with her 24.57 earning her 3rd lady and 16th place overall. Sarah Witham seems to be returning to something like full fitness with a 24.12 at the rural Marple parkrun. Karl Webster and Emma Holt were sole MACS at Monsal Trail parkrun whilst Malcolm Betts was also flying the flag solo for MAC at Rother Valley Country Park. Finally, Dennis Holmes made the relatively short trip by car to Vermuyden Way parkrun and ran a respectable 24.37 for 35th place
