Parkrun Roundup

Parkrun round up Sat 24 May 2025

18 members this week either running or volunteering or both at 10 locations.

In alphabetical order of venue, David Howarth was sole MAC at Alvaston running a tidy 24.29 for 85th place. Roy and Sarah Austin stayed close to home with the short trip to Brierley Forest for a bumble around the woods.
Black Rocks yet again was the venue with highest MAC attendance of 6 members and great to see the return of Megan Elliott/Hopkinson to parkrun.
Oscar Szabo was back at Cardiff running another impressive time of 21.09 for 79th place in this hugely popular parkrun.
Choosing perhaps one of the most scenic parkrun venues in the country, Fountains Abbey in North Yorkshire, Cherry and Kalle Moger completed another different venue to add to their ever increasing list.
Performance of the day goes to Caspar Reynolds with his 18.26 at Monsal Trail earning him the first finisher and a table topping 73.24% age grading.
Paul Clark meanwhile took the all important tourist award with a trip to Stadspark, Sittard which had to be map checked to locate it in the Southern part of The Netherlands almost in Belgium. Paul’s 21.14 earning him an excellent 8th place finish.
Uber tourist and alphabeteer Dennis Holmes made the relatively short trip to Lincolnshire to complete Queen Elizabeth Grammar School
Parkrun in Horncastle to collect his 6th Q and ran a steady 25.45 for 46th place.
Fellow tourist Sarah Witham made the trip to Queens Glasgow to complete her first alphabet where she completed this infamous course with 9 hills in a time of 25.16 for 50th place. Well done on that alphabet, Sarah!
And finally, Simon Flitter turned up at Sewerby parkrun where he ran a competitive 22.05 for his 23rd place finish.
