Dennis Holmes reports
18 members at 8 venues possibly reflects the number of other races happening at this time of year. Quite a few of us were taking it steady in anticipation of other events.
At Black Rocks our members were not taking it steady however with young Oscar Bridger leading the team in in a fantastic time of 17.55 and an age grading of 75.35%. Andrew Watson was second in 18th place in 22.05, with Gary Jones only 4 places behind in 22.33 and Ian Pitkin also within a minute of them both in a time of 22.54. New member Jill Neville also had a good run finishing in 27.07 just 22 seconds behind Gav Elliott.
Lisa Walton recorded 32.21 whilst also getting another volunteer credit for token sorting. Simon Brister also volunteered as a barcode scanner.
Mark Moriarty had a good run at Harrogate finishing in 23.26 whilst Dennis Holmes recorded an average 24.49 at Lister Park, Bradford. Paul Clark had the advantage of Long Eaton’s famously fast course to record 21.08 and 69.79% age grading.
Only 2 MACs ran at Monsal Trail with Captain Greg strolling around in 23 minutes and Paul Cruise finishing in 34.43.
Roy and Sarah Austin were part of the Matlock posse running the Titus Trot on Saturday morning so had fair reason for taking Roberts Park parkrun easy. Rob and Beccy Curtis made a long run sandwich of Three Brooks parkrun hence the restrained pace but being down in Bristol did however secure them this weeks tourist award.
Finally, part time tourist and alphabateer Sarah Witham ran a pretty impressive 23.32 at Woodhouse Moor thereby achieving an excellent 69.55% age grading.
