parkrun News 28 March 2026
25 MAC’s were out running and volunteering this weekend at 14 venues in England and Wales.
In parkrun order, Rob and Beccy were showing a turn of pace at Alvaston parkrun. Rob seems to have put more effort in than Beccy with pretty quick 22.26 for 38th place. Beccy was a bit more casual with the 23.24 taking 56th.
7 members were at Black Rocks where Emily Jones was the star of the show setting her new PB of 23.11 which scores a massive 75.70% age grading! The highest MAC age grading of the week.
Over in Nottinghamshire at Mansfield parkrun David Howarth ran a respectable time of 25.25 for 24th position and an age grading of 66.62% whilst Jon Tyson travelled perhaps a similar distance to Markeaton park, Derby where he recorded a 24.40 for 96th place and an age grading of 64.46%
At Monsal Trail parkrun, Nick Gant set a new record finishing in 11th position in a great time of 19.38 whilst also being a volunteer Marshal. Paul Clark ran a pretty quick 20.55 for 26th place whilst Andy Mellor simply racked up on the volunteer credits by doing both First Timers Welcome and Barcode Scanning.
Roy and Sarah Austin were back at Sheffield Millhouses where Roy ran 24.55 for 107th and Sarah, 34.52 for 363rd place.
Malcolm Betts completed Rother Valley for the 101st time in 25.43 for 129th place and an age grading of 64.61%, his best time this year!
Lisa Walton made the short journey to Sale Water finishing in 28.32 and 94th place.
Staying local, Gav Elliott took on the hill at Shipley Country park and ran 27.09 for 72nd place with JW10 category Isabella Wilson finishing just over a minute behind him in 28.28 for 99th place.
At the penultimate location of the week Dennis Holmes made the very short, for him, trip to Victoria Embankment, Nottingham, where he ran his best time of the year 24.16 for 209th place at this new very quick course which averages 743 finishers after its first 3 weeks.
And finally, also in Nottingham, Kalle and Cherry Moger took on the very scenic and undulating grounds of Wollaton park where Kalle recorded 34.26 for 323rd place with Cherry just 1 second and 1 place behind him.
Well run everyone.
