Parkrun Roundup

Parkrun news Saturday 22 March 2025

A bumper 31 members at 14 venues all the way North West to Liverpool and South East to Queenstown, New Zealand with Cardiff, Sheffield, Colwick, Telford and Northampton somewhere not quite in the middle. Good to see young Dennis Belbin making the trip to Princes parkrun near Liverpool where he put in a bit of effort to run a 24.37, surely signalling his return to form and soon to be lowering his 19.32 PB!
No fewer than 13 MAC’s were at Black Rocks where Greg and Ben put in the effort to provide us with a superb one, two!
Over at Monsal Trail Ed James provided Matlock with a 3rd place finish which Beccy Becky Curtis-Hall replicated for the ladies at Colwick parkrun which is possibly locatedhggggvñg conveniently for her other sad hobby, following Notts County.
Luke Beresford chose the wrong course for getting a first finisher as his 17.26 at Telford was only good enough for a fifth place finish.
Sarah Witham combined alphabet touristing with proper running finishing 2nd lady and 35th overall in a cracking time of 23.48 at the University of Northampton.
Dennis Holmes set his new PB in contributions to increasing global sea level with his trip to Queenstown parkrun on the South Island of New Zealand, a distance of circa 18,000 km from Matlock, just to run 5k. By pure coincidence Dennis now has completed the parkrun alphabet 4 times.
