Parkrun News Saturday 19 April 2025

20 runners at 10 venues marks a bit of a return to regular numbers of MAC parkrunners this weekend. Gav Elliott had his usual trot around Ashbourne whilst Cherry and “The Rocket” Moger had a run around Belton House near Grantham. Black Rocks was again the venue of choice with no fewer than 9 runners, led home by Captain Greg in 3rd place and 17.27 with John Thorpe in hot pursuit finishing in 16th place with a speedy 19.38. Ben Meakin was third MAC home in 20.31 and 24th position. John “2 puds” Birch had a good run at his local Blickling parkrun finishing in 25.17 and an age grading of 66.97%. Harriet Atkin was sole MAC at Monsal Trail running 27.36 whilst Pete Bush was also a sole MAC at his personal second “home” parkrun Nant y Pandy where he finished in 28.42 for 64th place. Parkrun super tourist, Dennis Holmes turned up at Nobles parkrun in Douglas on the Isle of Man to get the three legged flag for his growing collection. New MAC member Malcolm Betts ran Poolsbrook in a pretty pacey 25.43 for 104th place whilst Sarah Witham made the short trip up the M1 to Leeds and Temple Newsam parkrun where her 25.10 earned her 49th place.

Roy and Sarah Austin made the short journey to Nottingham and Wollaton Park where they both had nice steady runs around the undulating park finishing in times of 25.43 and 32.57 respectively.

Well done everyone!
