parkrun roundup – New Year’s Day

Dennis Holmes reports

parkrun news extra – New Years Day 2025
18 MAC members were out bright and early on New Years day at 3 different parkrun venues. Dennis Holmes and Lisa Walton headed South to Gloucester hoping to avoid the worst of the weather but were met by one of the wettest ever parkruns with heavy rain falling the whole morning.
Having travelled in the opposite direction, Luke Beresford and Cherry Moger ran at the Cinder Track parkrun near Whitby in North Yorkshire where they possibly had better weather judging by their times.
Not surprisingly, Monsal Trail parkrun was the venue of choice of the other 14 MACS participating on New Years Day, with loads of great times, none more so than that of Emily Jones in the JW10 category finishing in 25.54 and an age grading of 69.95% which was the highest of all MAC’s at Monsal Trail.
Roy Austin had his own reason to celebrate as he completed his 250th parkrun thereby gaining his green T shirt.
Well run all and HAPPY NEW YEAR.
Apologies if I have missed anyone and please comment below if so.
