25 MAC members started off the big day with a 5k run and not surprisingly the 3 closest parkruns to Matlock were the destinations of choice for 21 of you. What was more amazing was the number of other people who decided to do parkruns at these venues on Christmas Day with Black Rocks having 447 finishers, Monsal Trail 350 finishers and Poolsbrook a truly amazing 746 finishers!!
Well done everyone who got out here.
Further afield and most likely visiting family for the festivities, Les Thurston was clocking another vet 75 first finisher at Penrose parkrun down in Cornwall whilst at the other end of the country David Howarth was burning of calories to make room for the turkey at Wallaceneuk parkrun. Somewhere perhaps geographically half way between these two Harry Holmes was having a steady one at Shrewsbury parkrun.
Just making sure that he got the tourist award Dennis Holmes chose Yarrabilba parkrun, Queensland Australia for his Christmas day outing.
Apologies for the brief report and any missing MAC;s but no consolidated race report seems to be available for the christmas day extra run and I’m working on dodgy wi-fi with an 11 hour time difference to boot.
