Dennis Holmes reports on MAC parkruns:
This weekend’s report in alphabetical order of venue for a change.
Lisa Walton was sole MAC at Alvaston parkrun where she finished in 30.00, 149th place whilst at nearby Ashbourne Simon Fisher took the win in a leisurely 22.38! Why did I not go there today?
The tourist award goes to Megan Elliot at Clapham Common parkrun where she strolled around in 24.45 for 138th place. (See Megan for news of her new eatery just North East of the park-photo below).
At Monsal, Nick Gant had another stormer finishing in 3rd position in 19.44, whilst Sarah Witham was 8th overall and 1st lady in 22.34. Dave Curtis was not far behind in 11th position and 23.09 with Robert Scriven completing the quartet in 23rd spot, 24.38.
Next up is Penistone where Dennis Holmes ran 26.15 for 56th and Jay Bird taking it steady jogged around in 27.47 for 72nd.
At Poolsbrook Sarah Walton showed a return to running after injury and recorded 33.35 for 150th place whilst not so far away at Rother Valley Roy Austin recorded a respectable 25.19 for 58th place.
Last but certainly not last, Luke Beresford was first finisher at Shipley Country Shipley Country parkrun in a modest (for Luke) 18.35. Saving his legs for the BDL no doubt. Apologies to those I have missed. Late edit, Daniel Ashcroft making a rare run of less than 26 miles completed the St Helens parkrun in 19th position in a great time for a 40 something of 21.15!
