Something like 16 MACS attended 8 different venues this morning with proper tourists Sarah Witham and Robert Scriven over in Belfast at Ormeau parkrun giving us a glimpse of what looks quite a lovely place to visit.
Rob took the honours with 22.13 (39th) with Sarah 22.28 (44th).
Also proper touristing Megan Elliott completed Keswick in 22.24 for 35th place. Sort of touristing Dennis Holmes explored the centre of Birmingham where Edgbaston reservoir is a bit of an oasis in an otherwise concrete jungle. This was Dennis’s 92nd venue.
Getting closer to home but still a short trip down the M1 to Loughborough, Luke Beresford took on the challenging course of Beacon Hill and more than matched it finishing first in 18.00. Not to be outdone Simon Fisher also recorded a first place finish at Ashbourne recreation ground but in a more leisurely 21.00.
Over at Shipley Country parkrun Christine Howard took on the challenging undulating course and finished in a very respectable time of 23.42 for 19th overall and 2nd lady. At the penultimate venue of Markeaton park Andrew Watson ran a cracking 23.07 (55th), with new MAC member Chris Rouse recording a PB of 25.30 (108th), Lisa Walton was next in 30.49 (249th) and Roy Austin 43.43 (374th) as he volunteered to be a parkwalker!
Finally at Monsal Trail parkrun Will Croft ran a fantastic 18.49 PB for 5th place whilst Darren Spibey also had a great run recording 21.12 (14th), then followed the Jones clan of Gary, Lisa and Oliver with 26th, 38th and 54th places in times of 22.23, 23.57 and 25.02 a fantastic new PB for Oliver. As we all know, these events could not take place without the volunteers so thanks to Atessa Kolanowska for all her efforts at Monsal trail.
