parkrun summary 15 November 2025

Dennis Holmes reports

Very heavy rain on Friday led to many parkrun’s being cancelled this weekend due to flooded or dangerous courses. 15 MAC’s managed to find 9 different venues to participate at with Les Thurston abandoning the stormy midlands and heading off to his go to venue of Penrose in Cornwall where he claimed yet another first vet 75 finisher place in a time of 28.54 and the MAC tourist award to boot!
Much closer to home at Alvaston parkrun, new MAC men’s club captain Tom Palfreyman ran a fantastic time of 20.34 to finish in 17th position with Rob Curtis also having a great run in 42nd place and a time of 23.00, whilst Lisa Walton recorded another impressive 28.07 as she closes in on another PB.
Black Rocks survived the rain and saw 4 MAC participants with Andrew Watson and Alice Cundy finishing only 3 seconds apart in great times of 22.18 and 22.21 respectively (20th/21st places) whilst young Stanley Flitter ran a cracking 24.16 in the JM11-14 category for 51st whilst dad Simon managed a more sedate 31.40 for 130th position.
Dennis Holmes took a mini tourist trip of just under 2 hours to Ferry Meadows parkrun in Peterborough. This is a lovely one lap course configured around 2 lakes in a large park with excellent parking and a cafe right at the start/finish line. Dennis finished in 77th place with a time of 24.13.
Not far away at Melton Mowbray, Emma Holt ran 25.46 for 31st place whilst also in the East of England but quite a bit further at Sandringham, Mark Moriarty popped out for a steady 26.40 which earned him his 38th place finish.
Much closer to home at Rother Valley Country park, Paul Clark ran another quick time of 21.29 for 43rd place whilst just a little further afield at Sheffield Castle parkrun, Sarah Witham was finishing in a time of 22.56 for 36th place at quite a hilly 3 lap course if memory serves me correctly. Well run Sarah.
Finally, enjoying one of the most picturesque parkrun courses in nearby Nottinghamshire at Sherwood Pines parkrun, Roy and Sarah Austin hit the undulating trail course and recorded respectable time s of 25.11 and 31.53 respectively.
