Our weekly summary of MACs at parkrun events, courtesy of Dennis Holmes:
With MACS spread over 7 parkruns a return to average numbers followed last weeks big freeze.
Starting with our “Home” parkrun at Monsal trail, Karl Webster led home a tightly bunched trio finishing in 21.32 for 19th place, 7 seconds behind in 21st place was Paul Clark then another 28 seconds behind came Steve Goodall in 23rd position.
At an alternate home run Shipley Country parkrun, Luke Beresford was sole MAC finishing in 2nd place in 18.45. Also, pretty much at home, Simon Fisher had a great run at Alvaston parkrun finishing in 17.35 for 4th place.
Lisa Walton also at Alvaston parkrun finished in 29.38 for 126th position.
Over at the other Derby parkrun, Markeaton park, Sarah and Rob did a bit of mini tourism and both had great runs. Sarah was 52nd and Second Lady in 22.41 whilst Rob ran 23.11 for 73rd.
Over at Poolsbrook, Jenny Reed and Lottie Riddle were first and second lady, although anyone perusing the parkrun results might conclude that a certain runner forgot her barcode.
Moving on to the tourist runners at Long Eaton parkrun, Tony Gill set a new PB of 16.12 for 3rd place whilst mum Hayley had another fantastic run finishing first lady obviously, but also 12th overall in a super fast time of 18.29.
Jay Bird and Dennis Holmes meanwhile tried out the very new Beacon Hill parkrun near Loughborough, with the hill coming out top in Dennis’s case as he recorded 27.27 for 86th place whilst Jay yet again sped by him to finish over a minute quicker in 26.15 for 66th place. Note for any MACS wanting to complete this parkrun in the near future, wear trail or off road shoes as the hill is quite muddy and slippy!
Last but not least, doing a proper tourist job to claim our non trophy at Penistone parkrun, and at the same time getting his single Nelson, 111, Roy Austin ran a great time of 24.29 for 43rd place. Well parkrun everyone!
