Dennis Holmes reports
18 athletes at 8 venues is a slightly smaller than average parkrun turnout, especially as we had a couple of almost parkrun Newbies within the 18.
Lisa Walton was back at Alvaston seeking another super quick time. Her 27.11 is her second best time so the signs are good for another PB in the near future.
Misha and Gav also returned to their go to venue of Ashbourne where Misha ran a nifty 24.38 with Gav not to far back in 25.46.
No fewer than 7 MAC’s chose Black Rocks parkrun where David Bowden had a great run finishing in 12th place in a time of 19.56. Carl Vincent was next in in 20.48 and 16th place. Starting off the MAC family connections Oliver Lloyd ran a super 21.49 for 25th, abandoning mum Jo to do her own thing. Second Oliver in was young Oliver Jones in a great time of 22.27 and 33rd place who seems to have been abandoned by parents Gary and Lisa! Our next family pairing was Stanley Flitter leading dad Simon home with a winning margin of almost a full minute, his 23.34 making Simons 24.30 looking a bit lethargic! Jo Lloyd rounded off the MAC family finishing in 30.37 and 161st place.
Dennis Holmes takes this weeks tourist award with his trip to Cowfest and Erddig parkrun, Wrexham where he got around in 25.24 for 53rd place.
Paul Clark was sole MAC at Monsal Trail with a great time of 21.24 and 17th place.
At the penultimate venue of Rother Valley parkrun Roy Austin had a cracking run finishing in a time of 24.48 and 109th place with Malcolm Betts next in a time of 25.42 for 138th place. Completing our MAC trio was Sarah Austin in a time of 32.27 and 321st place.
And finally, yet another MAC family outing and this time a very rare sighting indeed with Colin Davenport lowering his usually very high standards to run something less than a full marathon. The venue for his 5k “fun run” was the scenic Sherwood Pines parkrun where he duly loped around in 18.24 for a first finisher place. Son Robbie obviously letting Colin have his day in the sun as its fathers day weekend jogged around in a nice 21.10 for 15th.
Well run everyone. Remember that next weekend is the MAC takeover at Black Rocks so please come along run, walk, cheer or whatever you fancy. Where something sky blue and join the fun!!
