Dennis Holmes reports:
With most MACS volunteering at our White Peak Festival of running, the number attending parkruns was obviously much reduced.
Locally Paul Clark was thought to be sole MAC at Monsal finishing in 23.08 for 32nd place, however after looking at VAR, Chris Rouse who had been running some bonkers Farmyard Jam event until 4am Saturday, did in fact complete the Monsal course in a time of 39.06 for 164th place.
Up in Glossop Sarah Witham enjoyed the undulating and scenic Manor park course with a super 23.15 for 15th place and 2nd lady.
Popular parkrun of the day turned out to be Ashbourne where Greg took another first in 17.47 with Andrew Watson 31st in 24.04 and Megan only seconds behind in 24.33 for 33rd and 3rd lady.
Making the most of the need to attend a funeral in Southampton on Friday, the silver lining was bagging a letter “I” at Itchen Valley Country Park parkrun Saturday. This course was very twisty, had a bit of long grass to start with and a bit muddy so not conducive to quick times. (That’s my excuse) Dennis Holmes ran 25.09 for 36th whilst Lisa Walton finished in 33.16 for 100th.
Finally our Matlock super tourist, Kate Ruffell had a fantastic run at the Eden Project in Cornwall finishing in 22.59 for 47th place and an age grading of 80.93%!!.
