Dennis Holmes reports on MACs at parkrun this weekend
18 MACS ran at 9 different venues this morning that stretched from Northumberland to Devon.
From North to South Christine Howard added Druridge Bay parkrun near Morpeth to our ever growing list where she ran 24.07 for 32nd place. Dropping down to West Yorkshire, Roy Austin and Chris Rouse took on the undulating course of Frickley country parkrun where Roy ran 24.33 (27th) and Chris 26.48 (46th).
Back to Derbyshire and Monsal Trail, Ian Watson set a new PB of 18:43 for 8th place, with Greg in 21st and 21.02, Nick Gant was 38th and 23.00, Andrew Watson 44th, 23.16, Megan 23.49 for 52nd and 3rd lady, 56th was Paul Clark in 24.19 and David Howarth 66th with 25.00. Still in Derbyshire just, Simon Fisher took 3rd place in 18.46 at Ashbourne.
Moving over to Nottinghamshire at the very undulating Gedling parkrun Luke Beresford was first finisher in 18.33 whilst Jay Bird had a shocker finishing 77th in 29.55. Meanwhile over on the other side of Notts at Beeston parkrun, Rob Scriven managed to navigate safely around in 25.28 for 105th place whilst Sarah Witham possibly fresh from resting last weekend managed a much more impressive 22.54 for 55th and 5th lady. Dennis Holmes extended his tourist streak to 23 events with a steady 24.50 (42nd place) at Abbey Park whilst Lisa Walton ambled around in 30.24 (113th) but more importantly got her lowest required Wilson number 4!
Penultimately just one more county South Gav Elliott was spotted running a good time of 21.39 (46th) place at Bedford parkrun thereby leaving only our current tourist champion Kate Ruffell to be able to retain her trophy for another week by completing Sharpham Estate parkrun right down in deepest Devon.
