parkrun summary 8 April 2023

Dennis Holmes reports on MAC parkrun adventures:

Today’s tourist award at a distance of some 200 miles from Matlock goes to Roy Austin, who flew the flag at Malahide parkrun Dublin today after a 2am start finishing in 56th place in 23.28!

Also touristing, Christine Howard added Centre Vale parkrun to our ever growing list of new venues where she finished 26th overall and 3rd lady in 24.30. Also in Yorkshire but much closer to home Dennis Holmes and Jay Bird were at Nostell priory near Wakefield with Dennis taking the honours in 24.53 (35th) with Jay 25.56 (43rd) place.

Also mini touristing were Lisa Walton at Beacon Hill, 33.26 and 173rd and Rob Scriven and Sarah Witham at Sherwood pines where Rob ran a cracking 21.54 for 21st place with Sarah not far behind in 22.37 for 34th overall and 3rd lady.

Our “race of the day” was over at Ashbourne Recreation Ground parkrun which must be a tad sticky at this time of year, yet Greg Hopkinson eased around in 18.19 to take the first place with Simon Fisher in second in 19.18. Megan Elliott completed the Matlock trio finishing in 25.01 for 38th and 6th lady.

Finally at our two local runs, Poolsbrook and Monsal Trail, we had quality rather than quantity with Sam Davis finishing second in 18.08 at the former with Andy Mellor cracking another super time of 19.30 for 15th place at the latter. As per usual please feel free to notify corrections or additional times
