A very special parkrun weekend with a volunteer takeover at Black Rocks parkrun to help celebrate the 50 year anniversary of Matlock Athletic Club.
A fantastic 37 Members ran/walked, volunteered or did both, with a full set of pacers covering everything from 20 to 35 minutes. The weather was perfect with plenty of shade on the trail. Outstanding performances of the day must belong to youngsters Emily and Oliver Jones who both set new PB’s. Lisa and Gary will have to put in a lot of effort in to keep up!
Lots of positive comments were heard about the excellent marshals and the results were published pretty swiftly once all of the barcode scanners were tracked down.
Dennis Belbin and Lisa Walton only dropped the token box once on the way to the cafe where careful and meticulous sorting was then performed possibly hindered by various other hangers on.
A great start to the day.
7 other MACS who could not make it to Black Rocks were out and about at 6 other venues mostly taking it easy in the glorious heatwave sunshine.
